I had read one of French’s later novels last year and had not realised there was a series, as i had enjoyed the book I decided to go back to the beginning; In the Woods is the first. It was a slow start for me but I eventually got into it and although I guessed the twist about 20% in, it was still a good read and I stayed up until 2am to finish it and to see if I had been right.
I give it a 7/10 and I am straight on to the second in the series (more…)
I was really looking forward to this book as I loved ‘unravelling Oliver’ and it was OK. My only problem with it was that 99% was ace and the ending was really good but just seemed too rushed. Like a few pages. Oh I was so mad, because it was a ending I was not expecting, and that is always a good thing, but I just felt a bit robbed.
This should easily have been a 9/10 but because of the rushed ending it’s getting a 7/10. 🙂🐭
I hate being middle aged. I particularly hate it when there are gorgeous products that no 45 year old woman, in her right mind, should buy.
But I haven’t been in my right mind for years. Even if I only look at this and tell it how pretty it is, I’m getting it. It’s back in stock at Superdrug and it’s only £5 😮😮😮😳😳😳
come to me my pretty…..
I just love these boxes, I cannot find a thing wrong with them.
This month’s theme is Fresh Start and comes in a bag rather than the usual box. The bag is really good quality and a lot bigger than the normal bag that you get in the box.
Here is what was in my bag: (more…)
I was bored the other day so headed over to the Superdrug website and had a mooch about. I had seen a Tanya Burr eye-shadow on a Zoella favourites video on the Youtube but as I know they are friends i took it with a pinch of salt, of course she was going to like it!
Superdrug had them on a 3 for 2 offer and they were pretty cheap (less than £5 each) so I decided to buy some. (more…)
I love this box. Usually I don’t like getting a lot of skincare but this month my face has took a hammering and I need all the help I can get, so this box has come just at the right time.
I have put a pic of all the ‘Blurb’ below as I am lazy and cant be bothered typing it all out.
There are 4 FULL SIZE products:
- The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Single eye-shadow – it would be £34 for the full palette which contains 9 shadows so this works out at £4. I have swatched it and ….here’s the best word…PIGMENTATION and it is a lovely aubergine colour.
- Unani illuminate milk cleanser – a whopping 200 ml priced £14 so that’s the box paid for itself right there
- Manuka honey face mask (Vitamasque) £3.99
- Deep pore cleansing facial brush – £6.99
The non full size product was Nip + Fab Kale fix moisturiser but it is still a decent size (30ml) it feels lovely and I look forward to trying it – it work out (if my maths is correct) at about £12. (£20 for 50ml)
So the total value of the box is £41 – not too shabby.
I haven’t done a review of previous products in any of the boxes as nothing has really wowed me but if I am impressed once I use them I will let you know.
Also in the box is a teaser for a special edition box for February from La Mer (!!!!) Now the box is £35 but considering how expensive their products are I think I might be tempted.
January is my least favourite month, the come down after Christmas, taking the lights down, no decent snow just cold rain and this year is more miserable than ever due to other family things. But the postman popped by and brought a little ray of sunshine or is it even more gloom? Let’s see….
Lord and Berry concealer stick £12 – not keen, I don’t really like pencil concealer. Swatching feels rough so don’t fancy it as underbrow highlighter but I’ll give it a go but for now – meh.
Batiste XXL styling spray – piss take. Come on Birchbox get it together. I can get this from any local shop – try harder – MEH MEH MEH
Vasanti Brighten Up – this is lovely, tried it straight away and it’s a Mmmm but full size is £25 or thereabouts – erm nope.
Nuxe – posh French name but basically glitter oil – am sure this will be lovely in the summer with a tan but cold damp January? – meh
Merci Handy – handcream, smells gorge and will be using (full size) Mmmm
I would give the box a 6/10, slightly disappointed. The sneak peek for next month is a make up brush so I’ll keep the subscription going for now but Birchbox need to up their game or I’ll be cancelling and going elsewhere… look fantastic imma coming your way…
